Transfer Admission InformationBecause Mays is a popular place to study business, transfer admission to the school is highly competitive. We select our students through a comprehensive application process. This review typically evaluates your previous academic performance, essays and other extra-curricular involvement. If you have general questions concerning transfer admission to Mays, please contact Texas A&M's Office of Admissions at 979-845-3741. Mays Business School (Subject to annual update) 1. The applicant should be thoroughly familiar with the current Undergraduate Catalog and all application information. Admissions questions should be addressed to an Admissions Counselor – not to Mays Business School. 2. Mays Business School at Texas A&M University offers transfer admission to the most competitive applicants. The application process identifies applications that evidence outstanding accomplishments, including academic credentials using the following guidelines. Transfer admission to Mays Business School generally requires strict and comprehensive adherence to Table 1 of Degree Track E prior to admission. Students desiring to transfer to Mays are encouraged to plan early, and incorporate this entire body of course works into their curriculum prior to applying. Applicants are expected to have excelled in this body of course work. This group of 9 courses, totaling 27 credit hours, is listed below with both the Texas A&M University and Texas Common Course Numbering System course numbers:
3. The entire application is reviewed. Successful applicants include carefully written essays that demonstrate clarity of purpose, creativity, and an advanced writing style. Applicants are encouraged to identify their intended upper-level major and to describe why they are well suited for that area of specialization. Students who have special circumstances they wish to discuss are urged to share all pertinent information, with appropriate documentation, in their essay(s). 4. Mays Business School admits applicants for summer or fall admission only. For a smooth transition without interruption to degree progress, summer admission is recommended for most applicants, especially for those who will have completed less than 60 hours or who lack one or more of the courses listed in Table 1 of Degree Track E.
